What does a Receptionist do?

Our dedicated and friendly receptionists are the heartbeat of our surgery and work hard to support practice staff such as the GPs and Practice Nurses to ensure the smooth running of the surgery. This helps you as a patient get the best possible service. Our receptionists cover a huge amount of work within the practice which includes helping patients as well as dealing with queries from other healthcare professionals on behalf of the GPs and nurses.  Our reception team are welcoming and well organised and help ensure the focus on compassionate care is delivered appropriately and on time for our patients.

The daily rhythm of work as a Receptionist on our team can be summed up in one word—busy!

Notes Summariser
Deborah Walker

Practice Secretary
Jenny Godden

What does a Summariser do?

We have no prior knowledge of newly registered patients' medical history until their paper notes arrive from their previous healthcare provider. Our Notes Summariser transfers the wealth of medical history from the old paper notes into our electronic records to provide our clinicians with an accurate, easily accessible electronic summary of a patient's medical history.
What does a Practice Secretary do?

Our secretary provides administrative support to our clinicians and practice management team. She is responsible for the smooth flow of your referral into secondary care after you have seen the doctor and is the first point of contact should there be any non medical queries regarding referrals.
